The classes, for adults only, are held at Duntocher Village Hall, New Street, Duntocher, Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, G81 6DF, every Monday from 7pm to 10pm. There's a map at the bottom of the page.
We usually teach on bank holidays because most of them are on a Monday and you would miss too many classes if we didn't!
7pm to 8pm is the beginner's class, 8pm to 9pm is the intermediate class and 9pm to 10pm is the advanced class.
We normally start a new beginner's season in February and August.
The new beginner's season starts on 18th August 2025.
Don't worry if you didn't make it to the first few nights — we'll help you catch up if you're not too far behind.
When the new beginner's class starts, the previous beginners may want to move up to the intermediate class and the previous intermediates may want to move up to advanced class.
You don't have to move up if you don't want to! Members of the intermediate class can also do the beginners class for no extra charge and members of the advanced class can do all three classes for the cost of one. I would recommend going to the earlier classes, partly because you get more exercise and partly because you may pick up things that you might have missed the previous time.
Those who have had previous Ballroom and/or Latin experience are free to start at the intermediate or advanced level, whichever one they are comfortable with.
The following dances are taught: Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Cha Cha, Jive, Samba, Rumba and Paso Doble.
The entry fee is £10 per person per night. You may pay in advance or just turn up on the night. We accept bank transfer (in advance only), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Contactless, Chip and Pin and cash.
Please do not come if you feel unwell.
We don't supply partners, sorry, but you may come on your own.
We reserve the right to refuse entry.
There's no dress code, but you shouldn't wear anything that might restrict movement.
You must not wear shoes that could damage or mark a wooden floor. Some of the steps require you to turn on the ball of the foot, so rubber-soled shoes are unsuitable. Suede soles are recommended to give the best balance between grip and slip.
No recording of images, video or sound is permitted.
If you have any questions, feel free to drop an email to me: Stephen Muir sjmuir@dancing-steps.co.uk or phone 07847 011862.
