About the Teacher

I started going to dance classes at about the age of 18, because my parents said it was a good way of meeting people.
I moved to Lancaster after about three years, but never really settled in.
I didn't think of going to dance classes when I moved back to Scotland.
Then in 2003, one of my sisters asked me to go to dance classes as her partner, which I did.
She decided to stop going after six months, but I kept going and have been dancing ever since.
I did all the amateur medal tests (Bronze, Silver, Gold, SA1 thru SA6 and finally the 9-Dance).
In 2013, I got my Ballroom qualification for teaching amateurs.
In 2015, I got my Latin qualification for teaching amateurs and also for judging competitions.
In 2017, I got my Ballroom and Viennese Waltz qualifications for judging competitions.
In 2021, I got my Ballroom qualification for teaching professionals.
I'm a member of the Scottish Dance Teachers' Alliance, the International Dance Teachers' Association, The British Association of Teachers of Dancing, the Guild of Professional Teachers of Dance and Dancesport Scotland.
